It would be impossible to list all the sun drenched beaches and breathtaking historical monuments to visit, but if you do find you can tear yourself away from the poolside, some of the places you might like to include are: Salamis Bay and its ruins; the magnificent beaches in the Karpas Peninsular; the ancient castles of St Hilarion; Kyrenia and the Abbey at Bellapais with its beautiful views over the island.

The picturesque harbour town of Kyrenia is well worth a visit, especially its many restaurants and pavement cafes. It makes an ideal starting point for exploring and adopting the unhurried pace of the Cypriot way of life.

Unlike the South, Northern Cyprus has not been commercially exploited, however, for those people who prefer a more energetic holiday, water sports are available and many of the hotels have casinos and discotheques. Some hotels also provide traditional style entertainment.
